the first step for us was naturally to create an origin story since we were anyway pushing the envelope of ‘quirk’. we decided to personify “The Drunken Botanist” as a loony, bumbling scientist and then we used him as an inspiration to create our visual identity, in a way extending his universe into canon. the design is fluid, organic, botany-inspired and in a sense, victorian – something we call ‘ivypunk’. the logo is a hand written font, and supporting branding is illustration heavy.
